Anyone else on the hunt for ethical beauty brands? Believe it or not – the pandemic has made the WG team a lot more careful about the kinds of products we use on our skin. Kind of the silver lining, if you ask us.
Although some of us may know the ins and outs of the ethical beauty industry – others may not. That said, we thought we’d give you ladies a little introduction first about what exactly ethical beauty is.
Ethical beauty is a broad term that simply describes cosmetics, skincare and hair products that are ethical in the way they do things. This may either mean that the products being referred to are free of animal-derived ingredients or that these products have not been tested on animals. You may have stumbled upon #govegan or #crueltyfree themed posts on Instagram at some point in your life, cause that’s what the hype is about nowadays.
But this is no fleeting trend – ethical beauty is here to stay. Believe us! So without further ado – Scroll through for the 5 brands we’re putting in the spot-light this week.
Balm Essence
Balm Essence is a boutique specialising in ethical beauty and exclusive fragrances. We find most of their products extremely interesting and especially love the natural ingredients they use. For instance, they use a blend of plant active extracts such as magnolia, calendula, blueberries, green tea, and grapefruit to create their Gentle Micellar Fluid Make-Up Remover & Freshness Toning Lotion. The concept has a pop up at MOE and offers online delivery in the UAE & GCC.

The concept takes masking to a whole other level – as they come up with some of the best concoctions by combining natural ingredients such as wild honey and yogurt to create some great masks. They also produce the cutest whipped, creamy soaps. Our personal favourite is the Citrine Beach – made with notes of lime, rum and coconut – bring on the sand!

You’ve probably heard of Origins by now – The brand has been making waves for a while with its’ beauty products. Made with only good stuff-plants, essential oils, non-toxic ingredients & advanced science – Origins is definitely a brand you’d add to your vegan beauty shopping list.
